I recently was asked to try out the Electric Mason Jar Vacuum Sealer VP05 from Love Moment LTD. Here is my Electric Mason Jar Vacuum Sealer review.
I do a lot of canning. Therefore, sealing jars happens regularly in this household. A jar sealer is a must have. I have a few that I have bought over the years. Some I love, some not so much.
So when I received the Electric Mason Jar Vacuum Sealer by Love Moments LTD, I couldn’t wait to try it out.
The Electric Mason Jar Vacuum Sealer
When I got the jar sealer in the mail I couldn’t wait to get it open and try it out. It comes nicely packed in a small box. The contents are comprised of the sealer, an electric charging cable, 5 large lids, 5 small lids, and a small paper with directions. This jar sealer also works with Ball Mason Jar Lids. Other brands I have not tried so I cannot attest to their success.
The jar sealer is black and I didn’t see where it is offered in other colors. The machine is made of Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene according to the Amazon description. It seems sturdy and well made.
Once out of the box, the sealer is pretty self explanatory. It comes charged so I was able to try it out immediately.
Using the Sealer
This sealer is capable of sealing both regular jars and wide-mouth jars. To seal the wide mouth jars, you simply place a seal on your jar. Then, turn the top of the sealer until the red line is on the unlock simple. Place the sealer over the jar and press down firmly.
If you have the sealer on properly, press the start button and listen. You will know when the jar is sealed when the sound becomes a bit high pitched.
To seal regular mouth jars simply place the cap on your regular jar and place the sealer over the top. Then, turn the red line to the lock position. You can then start the machine and seal your jar. The regular mouth jars take about the same time as the wide mouth jars.
I had no issues sealing both regular and wide mouth jars. It seems to take about 40 to 45 seconds to completely remove the air from the jars.
The Good and The Bad
While this electric jar vacuum sealer does a great job in my opinion of sealing jars, there is one down side to the machine in my opinion. You cannot seal any one piece lids. So if you reuse jars such as spaghetti sauce jars for dry canning, the sealer does not work on those lids.
On the upside, there are no hoses and extra parts that are common with other sealers. This makes the machine simple to use. Also, because it is rechargeable, you can take it with you to picnics or when traveling.
I really love the digital display on the top of the machine that not only tells you how long it has been sealing, but also how much charge is left.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I would recommend this electric vacuum jar sealer. It is easy to use, seems well constructed and does what it claims. Since I have only used it this one time and I can’t say how long the seal will hold.
I will keep a jar of dehydrated blueberries on the self to test its seal over time. I will continue to add and update this post as time goes by.
